Welcome to Excessus!
Excessus is an Alliance Factioned, Fun Content, Light Role-playing, Casual, Family Oriented, Play together, Democratic Socialist Empire Guild that meets regularly for the most unique events in Azeroth for fun, prizes, and to build camaraderie. We are the longest continuously surviving and largest guild on The Scryers, with highly experienced, consistent, and organized leadership and friendly, respectful members that focus on the individual playing the character, not the level, gearscore, or achievements gained.
We have a required Guild meeting, the Excessus Promotion Ceremony and Feast of Knighthood, on the First Friday of the Month at 6pm server time. This is a commitment we expect all of our members to participate in, it is the largest ceremony on the server. We also meet every Wednesday and Friday for events, and encourage all of our members to participate, because this guild's foundation is built on playing together. There are no strangers in Excessus!
Our unique events are designed for all levels to play in, we have created such games as Ironforge Clue, BINGO, Trivial Pursuit, Darts, Druid Jackpot, and many, many more games that you will not find anywhere else in WoW. Our memberships friendly and welcoming attitude will quickly overcome any anxiety of joining such a large and successful guild. Our ceremonies are the highlight of the month, and we proudly display our colors through Stormwind as we parade to the Cathedral for the Knighting of new members.
We have been continuously active as a guild since our creation shortly after The Scryers went active in 2007 and have maintained the same core leadership and foundational members since the beginning. Excessus is and ancient Azerothian word for "to go beyond" which our members do every day. We are immediately welcoming, fiercely loyal, very respectful and friendly, and worth mentioning again - we actually play together. Most members of Excessus never PuG, and there is usually no need to do so.
We require all of our members to fill out the Recruitment Form, and most importantly, to read and agree to our Guild Policies - we want to ensure that all members of Excessus are on the same page and know what to expect, and what is expected of them. Each new recruit has until Friday to complete the registration, guild policy agreement, and recruitment form, as we clear the roster each week. That is how we keep Excessus filled with active, participating members. We also have low tolerance for Trade Chat immaturity, rude behavior, disrepect, non-participation, or mean people; we keep Excessus friendly, courteous, and respectful at all times, and that is one of the secrets to our success.
If you are interested in joining the largest most active guild on The Scryers, and you are ready to put forth the effort to become a member of Excessus, and you actually want to play with other people in your guild - then we might just be for you, and we encourage you to fill our the recruitment form and read the policies, and do a /who excessus in game and ask for an invite. There are many fine guilds on our server, and we aren't the type for everyone - but if you are one of us, it will be obvious immediately, and we look forward to a long and fruitful friendship with you!

Here are a few of our basic policies everyone should know:
1. We are a Respectful Language Guild. That means no cussing (wtf, lmao, stfu, etc.) and if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. This extends to our VENT.
2. We are a play together guild. We have events almost daily. If you aren't interested in joining us for our events, but only for easy randoms - join another guild. We play together on all levels.
3. We do not tolerate beggars, moochers, ninja looters, thieves, trade troll, spammers, impolite, immature, or mean people.
For more detailed Guild Policies, go here.
We have created the most unique games found no where else in Azeroth, like CLUE, BINGO, Darts, Jackpot, and many more. Here is our schdule:

Sunday = Usually guild heroics, regular questing, off day. There are calendar events and special events scheduled periodically on Sundays, so keep checking the guild calendar. We also Kill the Lich King on Sundays, so keep an eye out for that.
Monday = Usually an off day.
Tuesday = We do the Weekly Raid as a 25 man team.
Wednesday = House Event and Recreational Raid on a rotating basis.
Thursday = Follow up 10 man weekly for those who didn't make it, guild heroics, and group questing.
Friday = our weekly FUN event. We have a game or other activity prepared with prizes.
Saturday = we are currently building multiple raid teams for the Cata Raids - check the calendar as well as contact your House Officer to find out the requirements for raiding with the teams, times, and expectations. It will take a lot of time, commitment, and effort to make it successful - and we aren't a raiding guild so not everyone will get on a team right away, and we might not blaze through content as fast as some would like - so we want everyone to be patient. If you are looking for just end content - you might need to re-read the Excessus policies, and who we are. Our goal is to have fun and spend time together.
We understand that people work at night, or on Fridays. We are looking for Active Mains - we just ask that you participate with the guild as much as you can, and let us know when you can't be there. This Guild is all about having fun TOGETHER and not being a bunch of strangers with the same guild tag. For more on who we look for, check out below
We are looking for members who are willing to put the community before themselves; who are looking for a social network where they can meet new people and make new friends; who still believe that we haven't lost Azeroth to all the Trade Trolls and H8Rs out there; who want to be a member of a large, honorable, resourceful, organized, friendly guild that cares about the person behind the toon.
We are looking for long term members, we are looking for your Main Toon, and hopefully all your alts; we are looking for loyalty and dedication.
We are looking for people with patience and understanding, and compassion towards new players, or even long term players who only play their class casually. We are looking for members who are ok asking questions, are patient and don't expect immediate replies, and who are willing to share their knowledge with others.
We are looking for generous members, those willing to do their quests, farming, and dailies, and still donate a portion of their time, loot, and gold for the betterment of the guild. We are looking for selfless philathropists interested in the good of others.
That is the type of person we have filled Excessus with. It is why our membership is so loyal, and has remained so for such a long time. We are a guild filled with selfless and friendly people who put honor as a guild and as individuals very high on our priority of values. If you are this kind of person, and what to play this kind of character, and want to surround yourself with like-minded people that believe the same way and act accordingly - then Excessus may be for you!
Excessus has over 226 Guild Bank System - a huge array of alt bankers that hold vast stores of almost everything needed in game. It is through the generosity of Excessus members that we are able to maintain a 6 tab guild bank filled with stone, 5 different banks for cloth, and much much more! Excessus is the largest guild on the server - and we have all levels covered. You can almost always find a group of people to run with in the guild, and we ask that before you go solo, or PUG it, that you at least put out the inquiry and invite others to join you. We are all extremely friendly and helpful - we have created this guild and filled it with the type of people who want to help others and play together. This doesn't guarantee you a guild group or instant random que - but you will see over time, that there will always be someone to group up with from the guild. We give away a Mekigneer's Chopper once a month. Our events usually have prizes worth thousands of gold. We have given away Traveling Tundra Mammoths, 24 slot bags, 1 hour of gathering from all members of the guild - but none of that is the rewarding part we speak of. Excessus is a safe, clean, comfortable, enjoyable place to play WoW - the game we all love. A place you can ask a question and not be yelled at or called a noob. A place you can make friends and even - new families! We are loyal and friendly, and accepting - and that, in the world of Azeroth, is the greatest reward. Excessus is not a raiding guild - we do, however, raid. We currently have 3 raid teams formed, to include a weekly 25 man Cata Trash Run for Epics. Raiding isn't our focus as a guild - but we have a lot of fun accomplishing and playing the new content together. Since we only raid once to twice a week - it may take us longer than dedicated raiding guilds - but we never have to PuG and we get to play with people we trust and have fun with. If you enjoy raiding without the yelling and cussing that usually comes with it - we might be the place for you!

We participated in the Dalaran Weekly Raid for Justice Points as a guild nine times. We fought Leviathan on 25-player mode (twice on Heroic) three times, and on 10-player mode three times – all of these groups we composed entirely of Excessus members. We also fought Jaxxrammus twice on 25-player mode, and three times on 10-player mode (once on Heroic getting the guild achievement) with all guildies. We will continue to complete the weekly Justice Point raids on Tuesday and Thursday at 6pm server time.
We started our Wednesday House events with an Alt-run, everyone worked on getting their lowest level alt characters up to level 10. Our ultimate goal is to have everyone, over the year, work on an alt a month through ten levels a month, until we all have another alt at level 85 by September. A lofty goal, but one that will be a lot of fun completing together; another plus side is there is almost always members online at every leveling stage in the game, so no one should have to play alone.
For our Recreational Raids this month, we started the cycle over, and cleared Molten Core and Black Wing Lair as 40-player guild teams. We currently have several players running Molten Core weekly, for the Hydraxian Warlord rep (required for a guild achievement) and the final mats for some Legendary Weapons (also for a guild achievement.)
Our events this month included a WoW Trivia game that was won by Zodameth and Zinah, and our Pirates vs. Ninjas Dastardly Devastating Dodge ball Extravaganza, which was won by the Pirate’s team. Several rare exotic pets were given out, a 500g prize, 22 slot bags, a few level 85 epics, and 2 hours of mat farming. There were several winners – but we all had a fantastic time playing together.
Our Promotion Ceremony was one of our biggest yet, and over 22 Lancers became Knights of Excessus this month. The monthly Mek Chopper was given out, and on top of that, several members (Tideflower, Shaydee, Ketski) got together and awarded a Vial of Sands to Duke Apathos in appreciation for all he has done for Excessus. We are now currently raising the gold and mats to give away a Quarterly (who knows, possibly monthly) Vial of Sands for a lucky guild member – tickets went on sale for 2000g each, and are selling fast.
We now have 3 Cata Raid teams going; two ten-player raid teams on Saturday, one at 1pm server time led by Baroness Anij, and the second at 4pm st led by Knight Oude. We also have a 25-player Trash Run Raid led by Knight Oude on Sunday’s at 4pm st. We have downed the Conclave of the Four Winds, and are have Argaloth in Baradin Hold on farmed status.
Even though Excessus is not a raiding guild, we are doing excellent – and few guilds can run as many raids as we do with FULL guild membership – no PuGs. That in itself is incredible.
We concluded the month with our International Red Cross Fun Fund Drive. We opened this event up to the public, only 5 non-members attended however. We had 50 toons, all dressed in Red, form up in a Cross in the Ironforge Commons.
We took some very awesome “red cross” Screenshots, which the guild submitted and voted on in our gallery, to be submitted with our donation to the Red Cross. We had 50 participants, and with the Forum Pledges and individual donations, we exceeded our goal of $500.00 and will actually be donating $510.00 to the International Committee of the Red Cross.
We followed the event with a Foam Sword Fight – fun was had by all, and we did a great thing together as a community.
We raised the guild level up to 18, maxing out our guild xp everyday, and remain the highest level guild, largest guild, and highest achievement point guild on The Scryers, for both factions. Our reputation as an honest, fair, clean guild, and a force to be reckoned with continues to grow. We removed all Squires that had not visited our web-page to register and submit an application, culling the numbers down to 820 after the removal of approximately 130 members. We currently only have active, participating members in Excessus – keeping us one of the most active guilds on the server.{/tab}
